The bicycle stall is right in front of the entrance. There’s no staff overseeing the bicycles, but we have seen staff maintaining the bicycles before during our previous visits.

There are different sizes for the tandem bicycles, just pick one that suits your group size, and take it into the park.

What we observe is that the bicycles are all taken after 10am, so you should pick one up at the entrance if you see any. Cycling around the park is a fun way to get around.

Note: After 10am, keep watch for your bicycle (if you still want it) while you’re exploring the park, or you’ll find that another group have taken it for themselves.

2. Feed The Fish

All around the park, you can see fish feed for sale. The payment for the fish food is through honesty boxes.

We advise going to the park as early as possible because the water of the lakes gets murky after 10am.

Before 10am, the water is still clear, and you can see large fish and koi. And might even spot an unusual species of large turtle in the lakes.

Our favorite spot in the park is the lake that is deeper inside the park. The lakes at the front of the park are not as clear. The water seems to have some oil on it too.

3. Climb To The Top

The highest point of the park is on the left side of the main track.

Colorful stairs lead up to a terrace with miniature structures of Ipoh’s most iconic landmarks.

There is even a model of what the now-Octagon apartments used to look like. Besides these, there are colorful windmills (a bit out of place in our opinion) that you can pose with.

The view from up here overlooks part of the park but not all of it. You cannot see the inner lake from here.

4. Take A Walk Down Memory Lane

On one side of a path that leads higher up the park, there are quaint set ups of antiques on display. These include wooden food carts, an old-fashioned salon, an assortment of weighing scales and vintage clocks.

Ducks are free to roam around the park. And depending on your luck, you might see ducklings too.

New additions to the flock include a turkey.

Most of the resident fowl prefer to hang around the side of the entrance where there are less visitors. And where there is a large boat (named Titanic) on display.

So much so, that visitors have started to throw their wish ribbons into the surrounding trees for a better chance of getting their wishes granted (the higher you can throw up your ribbon, the better).

You can get wish ribbons beside the big gold ingot display in front of the wishing tree.

And just by the inner lake is another shack with charms for anyone wishing to do better in their academic studies.

Conclusion

Try to visit Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village right when they open at 9:30am. This way, it’s not so hot.

And before 10am, the lake is clear and still – we think it looks especially nice like this before it gets murky. Moreover, if you go early, there will still be bicycles available.
